The Poker/Dinner Fundraising Event is to raise funds that will be used to sponsor scholarships for students that may not otherwise qualify for assistance to attend college, but have been able to demonstrate an ability to over come obstacles in their life that would normally have stopped them from pursuing a college education.  Our intention is to assist a local high school senior which will be attending school locally with the scholarship funds.

This particular scholarship is focused on students that may be facing special social challenges, are under privileged, or have overcome obstacles to and have been able to focus on their future.  The kids we are looking for are not Honor Roll students necessarily but can have a lower GPA if warranted and possibly considered to be “at risk kids”.  Our hope for these scholarships is to extend a hand where one might not be otherwise available and investing in our community.

The finalists would then be highlighted at the dinner event where the recipient would then be awarded the scholarship with his family present, and would of course be our guests.

We are selling booths if you are interested but a prize that can be given at the event to be raffled off would be a great, contribution.  We have also included a short essay of out last recipient as well.
